The girls were in the Danville Jaycees Springfest Pageant in June. Both placed 1st runner-up! Jazz also won a medal for prettiest face and prettiest eyes and Lil got a medal for prettiest face. It was their first pageant since they were babies, they had a lot of fun!

The cake is made up of individual slices of cake which are boxes filled with goodies as party favors for the guests. At the end of the party, we plan on dismanteling the cake which will also serve as a table decoration for their Pink and Purple Birthday Party. We took the girls to a Royal Ball that CASA put on as a fund raiser for the organization. It was a lot of fun. I covered the program the girls got with patterned paper to make it a little cover that matched the layout. I also made a pocket in the back page of the cover to put literature in it that the girls received about the organization.

I had made some new pages for the girls scrapbook albums and started looking at some that I had made when I first started scrapping a few years ago. Here is one that is a favorite. I don't think I have put this one on my blog before so I thought I would share it. This is Jasmyn who had fallen asleep while watching a movie and as you can see used the bowl of popcorn as a pillow. She was probably about 2 1/2 in this photo.

I was lucky to attend a recent showing of Cirque Du Soliel Alegria and absolutely loved it. I showed the girls what I went to see and they were so into it, the insist on going next time they come back to this area! They make me play this video a couple of times a day. It's one of the best ones I found on Youtube that have the main theme song on it! Love the music!

Anyone who knows me well, knows that my two favorite things are cooking and scrapbooking! My husband and I just rented the documentary film called Food, Inc. We have been interested in these types of informative shows about food moreso in the last few years since I have had some health issues. We have changed our way of eating for the better but it has been a slow movement and we are trying to really concentrate on it this year. So in our quest to eat better and really understand where our food is coming from and what goes into making it we have been trying to find local organic foods. In the summer there are a few farmers markets in the area which is really nice and we have a Walmart that does have a few organic items scattered throughout the store. We have a County Market that has most of their organic foods in the same area but still there is not much variety and of course it is very expensive! I don't mind spending more money for good food if we can afford it but lets face it...to feed a family of 4 only organic is extremely costly. So anywho, I found this fantastic website that I wanted to share for those of you looking for local foods that are organic, free range, etc.

And I would also like to mention that the Food Inc. movie was informative and they have a website that I think is of interest. There are also many other documentaries on this subject but I can't remember any titles of them off hand. There was one that I wish I could remember that I would highly recommend you seeing that has a man working undercover in slaughter houses and factories and such to unmask how they really treat animals that we eat.

I was so excited for Jasmyn today! It was the last day of school....Christmas party day and Jazz got to dress up in her fancy clothes. Well there was a drawing at school for a giant Christmas stocking and Jazzy won! OMG, you should have seen her face when she got off the bus. The kids on the bus were yelling to me that she won a giant stocking. The bus driver had to help her off the bus. It was so exciting! Her face was priceless! That was one of the best feelings ever!

I don't know about anyone else but I have had a heck of a time finding the Barbie and The Three Musketeers Dolls at the price I'm willing to pay. I checked local stores like Walmart and Kmart and they have the dolls for about $26. However, if you look at most retailers websites compared to the stores, the websites offer them cheaper. Sometimes you can get free shipping so it works thats if they actually have them in stock. From what I have seen most sites are sold out and those that aren't have higher prices.

I discovered that you can buy online direct from Matel the company that makes Barbies. There is a promo going on at least it is today that you can get an additional 20% off and free shipping on orders over $50. They have all 4 of the musketeer dolls in stock and you can get them for $18.39 each with the sale price. They also have the Prince that you can get for $10.39. We all know how hard it is to find Boy Barbies and a lot of the time they are just as expensive as the Girl Barbies. I also noticed that they have another Prince doll that you can get for $7.99.

So I was looking for a new book to read from the Doubleday Book Club and I came across this book A Lion Called Christian by Anthony Burke...The true story of the remarkable bond between two friends and a lion. I haven't read the book yet but when reading about the book I found that apparently there is a popular video about it on Youtube. I've never heard about it so I had to go check it out. This was the first video I watched about it and I have to admit I was boohooing like a baby. lol
